In the golf performance community, the glutes are widely accepted as “The King of the Golf Swing.” The reason for the title is because they play a vital role in creating the stability needed for a consistent and powerful golf swing.
If you’re looking to improve your body for golf, look to your rear-end first, as weak or inactive glutes contribute to a number of other physical limitations that inflict golfers.
Test Your Glute Strength At Home With The Bridge Leg Extension Test
If you felt unstable while perfoming the test, or you experienced discomfort in your back or hamstrings, it’s a strong indicator that you need to work on glute strength.
If you failed the test, add the following Bridge Progressions to your next workout or on its own as simple way to increase glute strength.
If you try these exercises and you find them to be too challenging or uncomfortable, do not continue, until you have consulted with your physician. All exercises for golf should be customized to your needs after a proper evaluation.
