Compression Board

Using the compression board can help golfers with one of the most challenging aspects of golf for many players is to achieve crisp contact on a consistent basis. To insure great contact, it is important to contact the ball before the bottom of the swing. I have made some compression boards for private and class lessons to give students an appreciation for where their swing bottoms out. The idea is that if the ball is contacted correctly, then the player will miss the board. Conversely, the board will be contacted if impact is not perfect.

A compression board has proven to be a great teaching aid to help students with their contact. I have always found it interesting to see golfers improve when they have something to miss as well as the ball to hit. Watch this video if you would like to see how this works.
