Feel Your Feet

This activity is designed to help a golfer orient to ground forces and understand where their body weight is on the feet at all times.  The data we have indicates that when the weight is kept centered on each foot evenly at setup and then stays on the center of the back swing foot at the top and then moves the the center of the down swing foot at impact we have the most stable ground forces with the least compensation of the lower extremities in the golf swing.

When the majority of the weight gets to the toes or heels at setup, top of the swing or at impact, the lower extremities move inefficiently, and in a compensatory manner causing poor pelvic loading and unloading from sways, slides, lifts, reverses and other challenges.

This video is the Feel Your Feet Drill.  It was recorded on a driving range with a group of students.  I apologize in advance for the sound  quality and the wind in the background.  Turn your volume up and have a look.  This drill will help you with your foot work and body movements if done daily for a few minutes.
