As I travel the country speaking with trainers I have noticed that one of the most common questions amongst these trainers is “How do I get the local golf professional instructors to send me their students? The answer I would have for all of you is that it is not necessarily difficult to accomplish BUT it does takes a strong discipline to  stay with (what we call) a “CULTIVATION” plan. Let us first take a look at the definition of cultivation:

to promote or improve the growth by labor and attention.

to develop or improve by education or training

to till and prepare for the growth

to foster

to give special attention to: to cultivate a friendship

This is the most effective way to cultivate golf instructors to start sending you their students:

Set aside a half a day per week to cultivate golf instructors in your area. By definition, cultivation takes time; therefore you will need to plan to make these visits every week over a long period of time. As time goes on, one or two golf instructors may start sending students your way while others may take a little longer. It’s all about putting the time into building your relationships with these golf instructors.
